From Peckham Bus Terminus, turn into Staffordshire Street and the Goldsmith
Road. A large imposing Victorian building. Just push the main doors, enter the
reception hall and the main club is right in front of you. WELCOME Should you be lonely, fed up with the TV, longing for some
conversation, then you are invited to come and join us. We are a friendly group
of senior widows, should you have a partner, both are welcome come should you
choose. We are a multi cultural (i.e. we currently have members
from England, Scotland, Germany, St. Lucia, Ireland and Mauritius). We all speak
the Queen’s English, are a happy group numbering about 30. What do we do? Membership
is 30pence per week. Bring a little lunch, enjoy a good natter Tea/ biscuits 20 pence then it is ‘Eyes Down’ for Cash
Bingo 6 games (Line plus Full House on each game) for 30 pence
you can purchase as many 30 pence worth sets of numbers use you wish.i.e.12
games for 60 pence, 18 games for 90 pence, 24 games for £1.20 etc. etc. etc. There is a flourishing ‘Bring and Buy’ Table –
proceeds support a yearly summer visit to Dymchurch plus the best cream tea in
Kent. Also subsidises a fish/chip lunch, masters restaurant in Waterloo Road
before and after Christmas. 8 holidays are arranged (5 day and 8 day) in the holiday
villages and hotels at very modest group rates by Dunwood Travel, who specialise
for the over 50’s. These are linked with Southwark Pensioners Centre at
Camberwell, which I am the holiday organiser, Registered GTO 1412. I am in
attendance every Friday except on holiday breaks. Should you be a resident of
Southwark you would qualify for a £100 grant towards the holiday cost (no means
test). You could win the lottery and still apply! The coastal summer excursions, fare charges are made to
finance the coaches. All excursions are on Saturdays, thus avoid missing any
lunch clubs you may belong to. Come and join us allow yourself 4 weeks, if you feel Yes!
Yes! Yes! You will have gain friends, companionship, plus a well-needed holiday
and not be alone any more. All males are welcome, don’t be shy. I can well promise
