PCCGs have pioneered the development
of partnership initiatives that have enabled co-operation to replace conflict
between local councils, the community and the police and has given the community
a real voice in the policing of their areas. The SPCCG, since its establishment, has been very active and consists of extremely experienced and dedicated members who live and work in the borough, and whose main priority is to make Southwark a safer place.
OUR
MEMBERSHIP The Group currently has a membership
of 51, which includes 3 Members of Parliament, 8 Councilors, 12 Police
Representatives and 28 Community Representatives. It is vital that Southwark
PCCG represents the diversity of the borough. Our membership consists of the
following groups:
Ø Housing Tenants & Residents associations Ø Black & Asian Ø Victim Support and Mediation Ø Voluntary Organisations Ø Chamber of Commerce Ø Sector Working Groups Ø Amenity Ø Churches Ø Community Centres Ø Custody Visitors Ø Elderly Ø Probation Service, and other voluntary organizations. Each
member is nominated by their organization/group for membership of the SPCCG.
