SSEMTA

Southwark Supplementary Education and Mother Tongue Association  

 

SSEMTA is an umbrella organisation that was established to offer support service and to create a platform for Supplementary and Mother Tongue school to come together as one collective voice.  This platform is the Supplementary Schools Forum. The Forum is open to any group or individual involved with or interested in Supplementary education. The Forum has several functions:

 

Supplementary and Mother tongue schools are community based education initiatives which works to support children’s learning and development in a holistic and culturally sensitive way. There are over fifty organisations in Southwark that provide Supplementary Education. Their hard work and dedication has a positive and long lasting effect on thousands of children and families in the borough.
